While most people are praying for good, Colorado weather, my kids are praying for snow. Why? Because last year, my husband got a piece of plywood and created a ramp so that my kids can go sledding in our back yard every time it snows. I love it because we don’t have to drive anywhere to go sledding. My kids love it because they can go anytime there’s snow outside. We have flood lights in our backyard, so they often go even at night. It’s a great way to get exercise and spend less time in front of a TV.
This picture shows the kids lined up to sled at day time (click to enlarge). The video shows them having fun sledding at night. In addition to getting exercise from walking back and forth, you see them shoveling more snow onto their ramp.
What are some creative ways you’ve made cold winter days fun for your kids?
